Hunger

Remember when you were a little child, when you get hungry, you'd this feeling - a lump in your throat and an urge to cry? I still get that.

Removing unwanted objects in a photo using Photoshop's spot healing tool

Here's a light trail photo that I captured couple of weeks back:

As you can see, there are these wires in the foreground that destroys the picture. I tried to remove it using Photoshop. It turned out to be extremely easy thanks to the spot healing tool. This tool won't work so nice if the thing you want removed covers a lot of area, but it works perfect for small or thin objects like a wire.

Here's how I did it: Open the image in Photoshop and select the spot healing tool. You can find it in the tool panel.

Adjust the brush size to be reasonably small and start drawing over the wire.

As if by magic, the wire disappears.

Do this till whole of the wire is removed. Here is the photo after it is done.

Almost impossible to detect the Photoshopping, right?

Photosynthesis

I took this photo near Powai Lake. I never thought my phone's camera could ever be used to capture a good photo. Turns out, it can take a decent pic, if there is enough light.

Bringing back the excitement,
one step at a time

So life's been boring. The excitement is gone. Pretty much everything that used to drive me once have stopped doing it. I don't know why it's happening. Is it the people around me? The food? Or may be the climate?

Whatever it is, the point till where I don't do anything and bitch about it to myself has passed. I have decided to try everything to make my life exciting and inspiring, and I'm sharing with you, what I'm going to do.

1) Have single exciting short term goals

These are like 30 day challenges, without the 30 day constraint. Time period could be anything between a week and around a month, but not more than that. Keeping the end point too far makes it look, well.. too far. That is why long term goals don't work unless you break it down into smaller chunks, the end point just seems too far ahead to bother working on it now.

I'll take up challenges, fix a time period and work on it full on. But it won't be that fun, if I don't journal it. So, I'll be writing about my progress right here in this blog. This is actually why I decided to start blogging again.

I always thought 30 day challenges would be fun, but never bothered trying it myself, until now. If you haven't thought about taking up 30 day challenges, I recommend you watch this video:

2) Don't work sitting in the room

Hostel rooms are terrible for working. My room definitely is and not just for working. Doing anything except sleeping in the messy room tend to put me in bad mood.

There are way better places in the college where I could sit with my laptop and read, write, code or rest. So, if I have something to do on my laptop, even if it's reading articles, I'm going to get out of the room.

3) Start doing things because I want to, not because everyone else is.

I need to be driven by my passion and interest, not everyone else's. Following others drains the fun out of life. It makes you a sheep and a good one at that, if you do it for long enough. Need to ponder upon how I will implement this belief.

We don't have to be, just sheep!

That's it and hopefully, it's going to be exciting. Wish me luck!
